Alarm Question
I was in the house today for a termite inspection and it passed! Hopefully we will be closing on it soon!
One thing I had a question on:
The house has an alarm system. Generally, how much is it for it to be connected to a central system or whatever? It has burgular and I noticed one of those fire alarm panels too.
I'm assuming that if they are hooked up it might save money on homeowners insurance. Is that true?

Re: Alarm Question
It saved me 10% on my homeowners insurance. It costs me $30 a month. My installation cost $175 so you're saving that cost but you should have the alarm co come in a tell you what exactly is alarmed and see if you want to add anything.

Re: Alarm Question
We have Slomin's. We pay $29/ month monitoring fee. The install was just over $300 but we added a lot of stuff. I think we save 10% on our home owner's insurance. The Slomin's guy said the savings will vary depending on who you use, but usually between 8% - 15%.
