Ahhh breakouts!!!
I am breaking out so bad on my face and chest all the time!! I can't take it. What do you all use that is over the counter to help? I am wondering if I should go to my dermatologist to get something that is safe during pregnancy.
Help!

Ahhh breakouts!!!
Earlier on my pg I was breaking out, BAD!! My face, chest and back; it was horrible. I was told to avoid products with Salicylic acid. I actually just used Dove soap and exfoliated every other day and its gotten 10x better. I have extremely sensitive skin so I can't use many cleansers without them drying my skin out or making it blotchy/red.

Ahhh breakouts!!!
I've had such bad breakouts my entire pregnancy. I never went to my dermatologist because I was worried they wouldn't know what would be okay for pregnant women. I just face wash and acne treatment withhout salicylic acid. There was another ingredient that is okay and mine have that in it.

I use two forms of natural wash n scrub from the spa I've gotten facials from. But they aren't cutting it anymore.

Re: Ahhh breakouts!!!
After the first trimester I went back to using my Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit face scrub. My OB said that most anything OTC that has 2% salicylic acid is fine. She's a little more laid back than most but I prefer that because if she wasn't I'd be freaking out a lot more than I already do
When I was in HS I remember reading an article in 17 Magazine that interviewed stars for their "skin secrets" and some supermodel said she put toothpaste (the white paste kind) on her larger red pimples and it dries them up after a day or two. And to be honest it does work most of the time for me

Re: Ahhh breakouts!!!
You can use anything with benzoil peroxide but not salicylic acid. Surprisingly, you will find more OTC products have salicylic acid - which has not been proven safe (or unsafe, necessarily) for the baby.

Re: Ahhh breakouts!!!
My dermatologist, OB, and MFM all said that clindamycin lotion was fine to use, so that's the Rx I was given.
