ahhh
My sons bday is tomorrow. He will be 3. I should be so happy but im sooo sooo incredibly sad. Hes growing faster then id ever imagined. How do i deal with this? How do i let my babies grow up and not cry every year? Please tell me i am not being selfish. I feel horrible for being sad and depressed.

 It's a very normal feeling. I'm sure I'm going to be a wreck when ds turns 1 in August.

my guy is only 6 months and i'm already feeling pangs of sadness coupled w guilt at each month mark. i can't imagine how i'll feel at each birthday. but you still have so much to look forward to! it's ok to be sad but remember to be happy at all of the joys ahead!!

I was sad thinking of peter's first birthday. It came so fast! people asked "does it feel like YOUR birthday since you get to open all his gifts for him?" and my answer was "no, actually...it's hard for me. it's very sad because alot of his "firsts" have come and gone.
In the end...I know I'm lucky to have a son who is healthy and growing and smart...but I know exactly how you feel.

I totally get where you are coming from...my DS will turn 3 in two weeks and its killing me...he is getting so "grown up" all of a sudden - he is still a huge mommas boy but still....
What makes it harder for me is that I have had two miscarriages in the last year so my soon to be three year old might be my last baby
On a cheerier note while I do hate my babies getting older I have to say I have SO much fun with my 6 year old DD - she is so funny right now....gets my humor and I get hers...we share private laughs together and she is this independent little person who still needs me desperately but she has her own identity now too.
It's okay to be sad. I do try to cherish the smaller moments as i know they are gone by in a flash.
