Age/Reading Level Question

Hi Everyone! Thank You for listening!

I was hoping to get some help regarding age and reading levels at that age.

If I have a book that says Ages 3 - 7, which grade level(s) do you think that would apply to best?

How about if the book says Juvenile and it is heavily worded?

Also....picture books....if they are also heavily worded....which grade level is the max they would go up to?

I'll have to double check on the website, but I believe it's titlewave.com that has reading levels for a ton of books!

You have to sign up, when I did I signed up through my university.

its hard to say without looking at the book...compare it to other leveled books that you have...

also, if you go to scholastic, and type in the book, if they have it, they will tell you the level.

also the beaverton schools in pa have a great searchable list online. i dont know the website by heart, but i googled beaverton book list and the link is near the top>

3-7 would be primary to me (K-1)


titlewave has levelling - you can sign up as a student - each book will have grade level, but if you go into curriculum, you can get F&P lists.

There are upper elementary/YA picture books (think Diane Stanley) and there are picture books that have deep meanings (Rosa, by Nikki Guillanni; Papa's Mark; Patrica Polocco)
