Aflace agent question
at my new job 7 month and only meeting the agent today. They are 3 + months late.
HR will not allow anyone to contact the agent with questions, all questions must go through HR. I dont even know her name, no else does either.
My last job let us contact agent as much as we wanted.
Is it normal not to be able to speak to the agent directly?
I think its odd, but my companies HR lady is very controlling

Not sure what's normal, but I have Aflac through my job and all inquiries go through the agent. I wouldn't think HR would even know the answers to my questions regarding Aflac.
Maybe once you meet with the agent, she'll give you her contact info. I'd find it strange if she/he didn't give it to you and tell you to contact them directly.

DH has Aflac through his job and works directly through Aflac (there are a few agents as he's in the FDNY).

No way, AFLAC is one of the independent companies paid for directly by you with no input from your company.
I would seek out your agents information and contact them directly.
Nosey Nancy in HR doesn't need to know everything, especially if she's not paying for it.

I agree, but I dont even know her name. The agent looked terrified when I asked infront of everyone including HR how to contact her. Like a deer in head lights.
We joked at work and said I should send HR an email, saying either I want vaginal rejuvenation will I be paid for out patient services or would like to know if my hospital stay would be covered when I start my transgender surgery

How is she going to get any business like that? Like another poster said, I'd probably call Aflac directly. Once you get someone there, maybe they can direct you to the agent and you can go over everything with her. I'm very surprised she didn't give you her card. Our agent gives us all her info and told us to call/email her with any questions or changes.

I just joined aflac and I got an email so I could login on their site for claims reasons. Like other posters said, I would call aflac directly.

Aflace agent question update
I called Aflac, took me 40 min to get through, they gave me her name. if I call a) she might not speak to me, because that is how my company HR wants it, b) she might tell my HR I called her directly.
Aflac, told me to call, its normal to speak to ones agent, they never had anyone say HR wont let them
I work for a crazy person!!!!!
for all I know they fire me over this lol
