Aflac policyholders
I was told by the rep that they only cover 6 weeks non-cessarean deliveries. I thought I would get the disability for as long as I am physically out of the office and on leave so that would be about 12 weeks. I feel like I am paying all this money monthly and will only get about 6 weeks post delivery and a week pre delivery. Has anyone been able to get paid for the disability past the 6 weeks? I know you need the doctor consent and a form needs to be filled out for additional time after 6 weeks but how difficult will it be to get this approved through Aflac?

Re: Aflac policyholders
12 weeks is FMLA, AFLAC will only pay you while you are on disablilty. SO that is 6 weeks, subtracting the waiting period on your plan. Mine was 2 week waiting period, so I got paid for 4 weeks.
I asked my OB/GYN to extend disability, he said no. I guess you can always ask?
I did meet someone on the playground the other day that is still getting paid from AFLAC, but she went to a chiropractor who filled out she had sciatica from the pregnancy or something. From what she told me, AFLAC doesnt care as long as they get the form.
So I'm slepping to work everyday & paying daycare. She is still on the playground 4 months later, working the system.
Trust me, I feel your pain. I was out for 4.5 months and only got paid for 4 weeks. Then I hear if I was a scammer, I could have been paid the ENTIRE time!

Woah that is scamming to the extreme!! I will ask my doctor after my 6 wk check up and see what he tells me. But I wouldn’t do what that woman did. I would be way too scared I would get in trouble for fraud or something!! Can’t believe she admitted all this info to you.
I also have the 2 week waiting period. I feel like this was such a waste. I think after I am done with the disability I will cancel the policy.

Re: Aflac policyholders
Im not a policy holder....yet. i am totally kicking myself for not gettingit thru work. I got another policy and have to wait three months to get paid. Plus my agent has never processed disability for maternity. So he couldn't give me a direct answer as to how long i get. Paid for. Soon as i have this baby and get back to work im switching over.
Edit for spelling

Yeah, the 2 week wait is a policy killer for me. I went back and forth, but canceled my policy when I returned. I cashed out on it twice for two pregnancies. But while you are out, they want back the weekly premiums. So they wanted $500+ from me when I returned to work.

I have it too and was told led to believe the same that it would cover me the whole time. I was ****** off. I am canceling once I get the check and cash it.I have a 1 week waiting. I am having a c section so I will be covered for 8 weeks, but I am not happy either. Its a lot of money for getting not much.

I didn't know that either!! Thanks for letting me know. I'll definitely be cancelling this once I end the maternity leave.
