Advice please - new apartment is making me sick

I am 19 weeks pregnant and wanted to move to a better apartment for my baby. Well, I just moved in yesterday and I am feeling sick. I feel sick only in the apartment. The only time I ever felt this type of weird sick (chest pain, burping a lot (sorry TMI), nauseous) is when i lived in another apartment a few years ago that made me sick.

I do not see or smell any mold. There is a fresh coat of paint, so it may contribute. But I am very very upset about this. I signed a 15 month lease, worked very hard to move, and paid a lot of money. And this is happening after only 2 days. I don't think my landlord is the type to understand this type of unusual sick reaction.

Has anyone else every lived in an apartment that made them sick? What was the cause and what did you do?

Any advice would be appreciated. I am so concerned for my baby (as well as myself).

Edited for spelling.

I don't have any advice per se but I do know that you don't have to see or smell mold for it to be present. Is there new carpeting in the place? I know carpets are treated with stainguards and such or even a type of material could cause an allergic reaction. Even if it's something you previously tolerated, being preggo changes so many of the body's reactions.

Sorry there's no real advice here but I hope you find an answer soon. Chat Icon

my sister was sick in her apt turned out it was carbon monoxide from gas leaking from her stove. I would call the landlord, see if you can get con ed in there, and a carbon mono detector
