Advice
What's your favorite piece of 'advice' given to you by family, friend, stranger, etc.
I need to hear some of these as I'm having a rough morning with a newborn, 3 and 5 yo.
Thanks.

Well my mom always used to say "this too shall pass". It's life advice but applies to everything.
Sorry you're having a rough day. I've been having a lot of them too.

Re: Advice
My mom would always tell me "It's not always going to be this hard" when I was having rough days with newborn twins.

I ignore most advice.
But my theory with my DS......everything is a phase and you have to take things day by day.
This is my general outlook on life as I have gotten older.
I have horrible days with my DS and then the next its like someone sprinkled fairy dust and the world is all in sync.
Breathe!!!!!! Tomorrow will be better. And my fall back is a glass of wine!!!!

Re: Advice
Everything with a newborn is hard...add in another child, let alone 2 more, and it feels nearly impossible. But, it will pass and it will get easier. I promise you!
You forget how hard it is at the beginning...you're tired and probably don't have time to shower or eat. But your babies are only babies for so long. Soon they grow up and feed themselves and sleep through the night...and so you will, too.
For now, just take it 1 day at a time. Or one hour at a time. Or even just get through this minute. It will get easier.
Is there something specific we can help you with?

this
Most of my "advice" comes from song lyrics. These are usually the ones I listen to when things get hard:
Oh, there ain't no rest for the wicked Money don't grow on trees I got bills to pay I got mouths to feed And ain't nothing in this world for free No I can't slow down I can't hold back Though you know I wish I could No there ain't no rest for the wicked Until we close our eyes for good

I only have 2, so I can't imagine 3. But with my 2, I learned it's ok to let the newborn cry. Babies cry, sometimes for no reason. The older ones are mobile and will get into trouble a lot faster than the newborn. So attend to your older kids, get them settled, and then get the baby. The iPad was (and still is) my best "baby-sitter" of my toddler when I need to take care of the baby.
