Advice...
So I went to my regular OB-GYN and told him that my DH and I are going to be TTC in the next year or so. He ordered a sono, just to check out everything, and while they were doing it, the tech thought she saw a polyp. I just went back and I have to get another sono on Monday, because I was close to AF the first time, so they want to see for sure. Its basically, yes, I have one, they are just confirming on Monday. I have to get it removed before we start TTC, but I am wondering if I should get a second opinion from a RE. For those who have had polyps removed, who did it? Did your OB-GYN or RE do it? I am really freaked out about the surgery impacting my future TTC plans, and am wondering if having a RE check it out might be helpful. We are not TTC now, but would it be beneficial to have someone who is more fetility-minded's opinion?
I hope I am making sense, lol.

Advice...
Your obgyn is the appropriate dr to diagnose and do a polyp removal. Having a polyp is definitely not a reason to see an RE. The surgery should in no way impact your TTC plans if anything having it removed will be beneficial for the future

Thanks. I just wasn't sure. I have been googling too much, and most people I saw who had polyp removal, had it done by a RE, so I wasn't sure if I was missing something.

I have had one removed by my ob then it came back. My second one was removed by my RE who is very experienced in these types of procedures. My re used a different routine in preparing me for the procedure. Every Dr is different though. If you want to Ttc, polyups should be removed. Mine was right in the middle of my uterus so it could cause miscarriage. Its an outpatient procedure w anesthesia then I took a 2 days after to stay home and rest.

I had my RE do the surgery bc I am currently a patient of his but an ob can do it also. If you want a second opinion before proceeding, go to an RE. I know you are very early in the process but they will do a full fertility work up to determine pregnancy potential.
