Hi -- We were invited to Advertureland, and I am wondering if DS is old enough to enjoy any of the rides. He is 21 months. Is it like Sesame where you can get on with them?
Thanks!

Edited to add: For those who have also been to Rye Playland, which park is better for an almost 2 yr old?

At adventure land...There are some rides you can go on (helicopter, carousel, balloons, Ferris wheel, train, Viking ships, antique cars, puppies (may not be there anymore) & others you can not (kiddie carousel, caterpillar). I usually get loose tickets for that age. They do not height restrict. I've had my baby girl on all rides I can go on & had my boy do some independent rides at under 2 there.

Rye playland is free for below 2 with an adult, but they can only go on Ferris wheel, carousel & train. You can buy tickets for youths that are below a height (including those under 2), but they have to be ? walking? & go with them on another handful of rides (trucks, mine tunnel scary ride, balloons, submarine, slide, slime buckets, catepillar, antique cars). As for the rest of the rides, they are really strict about 36 inch height & measure kid at each ride.

So, for really little guys, adventureland. For above 36 inches, I like playland.

Re: Adventureland

We started taking my son just around 2 and he loved it. There was plenty for him to go on. Some of them we went on with him. Sometimes, depending on who is taking the tickets, they didn't make us give them tickets.

The first time we went, we weren't sure what to do - bracelet v. tickets and for who and a veteran parent saw us hemming and hawing. He said to buy 21 tickets because most of the rides for that age are 3 tickets each and it would be fine. He was absolutely right. We ended up having some extra tickets and went on the train ride.
