Re: Adoption Q2 spinoff

I saw that, it was ver sad.
I really can't judge because I really don't know what I would do in a situation like that. I know I could never give my kid away.

i saw it but i do not remember her wanting to try to get the baby back. Was this the chick that picked the name out for the baby?

I saw it, great episode. It is a hard thing to understand, and I think a mother really has to do the most selfless act imaginable to give up her baby.

Re: Adoption Q2 spinoff

yes,I saw it. She had a hart time once it was time to deliver the baby. I think that was the one...that most be one of the most difficult decisions a mother would ever have to make.

Re: Adoption Q2 spinoff

That's awful! Did she get the baby back?

My aprents tell me the stories about how they were so frightened in the first year that my B-mother would demand to have me back

No. in the state of Utah all adoptions are FINAL.

i was so mad she was smoking when she was preg though! i guess she didnt care at hte time since it "wasnt hers"

i felt bad for her.... but thats not fair to the new parents.

I definitely feel bad for her it's a tough situation... even if she knew she was giving the baby up, why would she smoke during the pregnancy? Chat Icon

Re: Adoption Q2 spinoff

I have to tell you first hand on how hard it is to put your child up for adoptionChat Icon I was debating on using a different screen name but decided not to...I know I will have people that don't agree with my decision but I have dealt with that for over 10 years. I as many of us...I did not make "smart" choices when I was younger...and because of that I got pregnant at 17 with my BF of 3 1/2 years. Neither of us were able to give my son anything and neither one of our families were supportive. Abortion was not a choice for me...not that I think less of anyone who has done it I could not. I did not want my son to suffer because of me so we had really no other choice but to give him up for adoption. I have suffered for over 10 years I have such a gap in my heart and such a strong feeling of sadness. We have an "open adoption' I can send him letters and presents and pictures...they also send me pictures and letters. My son knows how much I love him and how he is ALWAYS is on my mind!!! He knows the reason why he is not with me today and I just got my first letter from him telling me how he knows that I love him so much and thats why I had to give him up and that I am sad so that he can be happy (that meant so much to me) I just had my daughter 5 months ago and I thought when I had a baby it may lesson the pain but is does not...it makes it a bit worse. I also treasure EVERY moment with my daughter and just am so inlove with her . I now am finding out what I really missed out on my son and it breaks my heart!!! The day I had to hand my son to his adoptive mother was and is the worse day of my life and yet the happiest day of their lives. I have to think at times that I gave my son to his wonderful adoptive parents for his happiness and their happiness and till this day I suffer with the sadness but my son is a happy, healthy and beautiful 10 year old and he is what counts!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I think it's beautiful that you have such a good relationship with your son, and that he can go through life knowing that you love him. That's so wonderful! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Adoption Q2 spinoff

I havent seen that, but I have an adopted niece and I cant imagine how hard that would be for our WHOLE family!
In our cause she is from China, and there is NO record of her parents so we wont have this issue but just the thought kills me!
