adopt child for holiday?
Last christmas i "adopted" a child for the holidays through a nyc organization but i can not remember what the website was does anyone know i would love to do it again TIA

I think the Salvation army does an "Adopt-a-Family" program for the holidays. I know many churches have families / children that members adopt for the holidays. I'm not sure which program you are referencing. I hope someone knows!
This is such a great idea!

I have been doing this for many years now, it feels good to do something for someone especially around the holidays. It's so sad to get the letters from the kids asking for things from Santa. It's rewarding to know that come Christmas morning, a little boy or girl will have something to open.

if you go to nycares.com under annual events i think it is called winter wishes the sign up date starts october 20th and you chose an age group then they send you a letter that a child has written to santa with a wish list of what they would like. it is for children in ny whose parents can not afford to buy them anything I cant imagine being that parent or that child with not even one gift under the christmas tree  it is a really great feeling that you get and it is fun too!
