Adiri Bottles
I know I am very far away from bottle selection, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Adiri bottles.
Link to website:
ADIRI
They seem expensive at $10 for an 8oz bottle, but look like they may be a great choice for me if I plan on breast feeding and pumping too. This way, I can maybe get DH to do late night feedings. Ok so I am delusional.
Any thoughts?

Re: Adiri Bottles
leslie, i would post this on parenting, because i can recall at least one parent who has used them.
you can really use any bottle while bfing. i had this discussion with my lactation consultant, and she said that in her 17 years of practice she has never seen nipple confusion. i introduced a bottle to jonah at 2 weeks and there was never even a hint of confusion.
overall i would suggest not buying more than one bottle of a specific type, because it's a trial and error thing and you never know which bottle your child will like. jonah, for example, took every bottle i ever tried except the playtex nurser. aside from the nipple issue, there is also the gas issue. dr. brown's was the only bottle that didn't give him gas... but other babies have no problems at all... so i would just buy a couple different kinds and try them out.

Thanks. If the kid is anything like its parents, it will eat anything from anywhere.

Re: Adiri Bottles
Leslie, I had to try a few before I hit on one that DD would accept. Someone on parenting recommended that one but at that price I decided to try something else first. Luckily that something else - Playtex drop-ins worked - but that was bottle # 4.

Re: Adiri Bottles
I breastfed and pumped since she was 3 weeks - drs' orders. We used Gerber wide neck bottles - recommended by lactation consultants - and had no problems with nipple confusion or anything. I know others that used other botles and were fine. As long as you breastfeed first, and than give the bottle for the first 8 weeks or so you should be fine.
Those bottles look weird to me and its one thing to 'look' like a boob and another to actually work like one. Gerber bottles are MUCH cheeper and could be found at target.

Re: Adiri Bottles
I love these bottles. Used them with DD and plan to use them with #2. They are easy to clean (just two pieces) and my DD took to them very well when I was pumping and BFing. She had no problem going from breast to bottle to breast and so forth.

My friend used them and she really liked them a lot - wish I could be more helpful - but I'm seeing her today for lunch, so I'll ask her - I personally am shallow and LOVE how they look!!!

Re: Adiri Bottles
I think MrsBlueSash used them. Or I remember her mentioning them.
I didn't BF, but honestly, I think most bottles are ok. My BFF pumps exclusively and her DS takes Avent bottles just fine.

yeah, I was going to say, the mod girl that I am, I LOVE the way that bottle looks! ah, vanity
bottles are something I'm pretty confused about too.... It's good to know that the general consensus is it's a lot of trial and error.....

Re: Adiri Bottles
my dd rejected bottles for the first 4 months! We started with the adiri and she took to it no problem. This was after using dr. Browns, playtex, avent, and just about every other bottle.

Re: Adiri Bottles
I BF and I use those bottles. My DS them. I started out with a different bottle, which he took with no problem. However, when I switched him to these, daycare commented on how much he loved the nipple. The nipples also last a lot longer with these bottles than with conventional ones. I have been using the same bottles since August ('07).
One thing to keep in mind if you BF is that you want to have a slow flow nipple. You want to make sure that the baby doesn't develop a bottle preference and start refusing the breast. These bottles very closely mimic BFing. Well as much as a bottle could.
You you have any specific ? please feel free to FM me

I agree with you 100% about how easy these are to clean.
