At what age did you start teaching your child their address?

Re: Address
I am crazy about that. I care more about that then him knowing his letters and numbers. At 3.5 years ds says the street address and number and ny. When u ask what town he will say it. For example he says 19 maple avenue ny. Then if you say what town he says it. He has known this since about 3. We are working on phone number now.

Thanks! My son is 2.5 and we were just saying it might be a good time to start teaching him.

Re: Address
Before he started preschool I wanted ds to know his address and phone number. Can't remember when it was exactly but sometime between 2.5-3. He definitely knew it before he turned 3. It came pretty easily and he remembered it very fast. My dd is not yet 2.5 and all I get when I ask her where she lives is "in a castle" so I'm thinking she is still too young lol. P.s. we do not live in a castle hahahahaha

Re: Address
I started around 2yrs, everyone thought I was nuts. I did both our address and phone # in a sing song type voice and by 2.5 my ds had it down. Now he will be 3yrs old in a few weeks and he can recite both without singing it but I think it helped him learn it faster.

Address
3.5-4 honestly anyting before this age is really just memory. At 3.5 my son actually knew what address meant.

Memory is all I'm going for. I want him to be able to say his address if he were ever lost or in some kind of emergency situation, like calling 911 or something.

ok thought you meant for the true meaning of knowing what an address is. So if that is all you are looking for age shouldn't matter. If your child can repeat it then purpose met.
