Adding solids question
The girls now sleep til 6:30 (thank God!!). They get a bottle when they get up (6oz but dont always finish, oddly). Since they used to do 5 bottles per day Ive been trying to keep that but Im not sure they need it. Ive been giving them their second bottle at 10:30, then 1:30. Then at 4:30 they get about 1 tbsp of cereal with fruit/veg and 3 oz bottle (they split a small gerber plastic pack. Then an almost 7 oz bottle at 7:30 before 8:15 bed. (they dont usually take all 7, more like 5/6).
So my question is, should I make the 10:30 feeding cereal/fruit? If so, how much and do I still give a small bottle?
I just added cereal this week. The ped had wanted them eating solids 2x per day. They will be 7 mo in 2 weeks.
I have no clue how to plan meals with solids

Adding solids question
ped told me to keep giving the same amount of formula as normal but give cereal or veggies in addition.
We usually do cereal in the morning and half hour later, we give the morning bottle (not the very first meal of the day)
night is the same except that's the veggies / fruit.

I wouldn't replace a bottle with food. Just give the food after the bottle (like maybe 30 min later).

Re: Adding solids question
My DD dropped a feeding - she used to do 5-6 nursing sessions a day and now she is down to 4-5. I think se only takes a few oz sometimes though. I do want to make sure he gets all her milk though so I do offer her that 5th feeding!
So I prob do things backwards but here is our schedule...
8am nurse 10-10:30 nurse again and put down for nap (this is the extra feeding) 1:00ish - fruit and cereal 3ish nurse and nap 6ish veggie 7:30-8 nurse and bed
Ok I used to give breakfast around 9am but stopped doing that. She takes a lot of milk in the a.m. and drinks so slow and t was hard to get in nursing, changing her, solids etc all before she tires out for first nap which happens quick. So I moved the solids to lunch and dinner. I also used to nurse her first and then give solids but just tried reversing it this week because I want her to nap longer and think the milk holds her better. This is just trial and error right now!

I gave my food in between bottles. SO he never got both at the same time.

Re: Adding solids question
So the ped said to give just solids for 2 feedings then offer bottles and if they take them great If not dont push. They might lessen formula by a few oz per day. And she said to work in 3 feedings. Um. Baby steps. Lol. I can't even figure out 2 per day.
