adapter for outlets in the UK
going to london next week and i bought an adapter at radio shack yesterday, but im not confident that it's the right one... and the employee didnt seem too confident either. it has 2 prongs and the back of the package lists a bunch of countries and says "use in continental europe" but it doesnt list England.
my Dh checked at home depot and they said they dont carry any. does anyone know what type of adapter i need or what it should look like? it's really only to use with my hair dryer and straightener
thanks!

Re: adapter for outlets in the UK
England has different plugs from Europe.
England looks like this:
And Europe looks like this, sometimes you'll find three prongs in Italy:
However, I'd check your Hair Dryer and Straightener and make sure it says:
110-240 V and 50-60 Hz.
If it doesn't say that, your appliances won't work with an adaptor (it will blow up), you'll need a converter. I wouldn't bother with a converter b/c it can ruin the appliance if you aren't careful.
A lot of times hair dryers and straighteners form the US only work in the US. Unless you have a travel set. Those are usually for both voltages.

I bought one in a CVS or rite aid...forget which one - that had all adaptors for Europe and Asia...each country is labeled on where it is good for...did you check the pharmacies near you...

Your chargers (camera computer) will work but things like straighteners and hairdryers might blow up! Be careful! The voltage is different!
