Acupuncture Questions! *Update: Does this sound right?
I have a few questions about acupuncture:
1) How much does it usually cost?
2) How often do you go?
3) How long is each session?
4) Does it hurt?
Thanks!
*UPDATE:
Here's the information I got. Does this sound right?
The number of treatments can range from once a month to around three or four times a month depending upon your diagnosis and treatment plan. Once a week is common. The initial visit will take 1 ½ - 2 hours. During this time we will discuss your situation, perform a diagnosis, develop a treatment plan and answer any questions you may have. After this, you will receive your first treatment which may include acupuncture, light massage, heat therapy, and relaxation and visualization therapy depending upon your needs. Subsequent visits last 1 – 1½ hours and focus on your treatment. The cost is $100 for the initial visit and $75 for subsequent visits. If you decide to pursue Western fertility treatment, we do our best to be available during transfer time. I can explain this in more detail if the need arises. Some people want to know how much or how long. Others ask how many treatments. The one question everyone has whether they ask it or not is, does it hurt? The word “needle” is the culprit. Be assured that the hypodermic needles you’re familiar with are nothing at all like acupuncture needles which are surprisingly small and thin. You may feel a sensation, but you should not feel pain or discomfort. Many of our clients are so relaxed during their treatment that they fall asleep right on the table! I encourage you to try it and see if it’s right for you.

I have a few questions about acupuncture:
1) How much does it usually cost?
costs me $60 a session
2) How often do you go? I go once a week, but when stimming you go 2x a week. Or in natural cycle b/f O, you would go 2x a week.
3) How long is each session?
My sessions range from 20minutes to 45 minutes (I never want it to end).
4) Does it hurt? No, does not hurt at all. I don't even feel the needles.
Thanks!

Re: Acupuncture Questions! *Update: Does this sound right?
I paid a package price for my acupuncturist, he was affiliated with my RE's office.
My initial consultation was about 90 minutes, which included a treatment.
Since I was a slow responder with my stims during my first IVF cycle, and a slow responder to Clomid prior to that, we did 2 sessions per week starting the week before I started stims until my retrieval. He also used eStim on me during this time, he hooked what looked like tiny jumper cables to the needles in my belly and sent very small electrical currents to them. Didn't hurt at all, tickled for a moment or two then I didn't even notice it.
I did a treatment the day before my transfer, and a treatment the day of my transfer (although, it was with someone else, as my acupuncturist was on vacation).
I didn't do any treatments after transfer until I got my BFP. Then I did 1 treatment per week until I was released from my RE at 8 weeks pregnant.

Re: Acupuncture Questions! *Update: Does this sound right?
I'm doing acupuncture with IUI, I'm a few cycles away from IVF...
the initial visit goes over your medical history, your eating/sleeping habits and lifestyle...as these can all effect your diagnosis and treatment.
My initial visit was about 90 minutes including my first treatment..my subsequent visits are anywhere from 40-60 minutes. I go every week DH only goes for the two weeks leading up to the IUI.
Our price is $60 per session.
