activities for 5yr old girl....help/advice
Besides soccer, gymnastics and dance, what other activities can I get my DD to do?
She doesn't want to do gymnastics and she doesn't pay attention AT ALL to soccer. She just does her own thing and doesn't listen to what the coach is saying. She dis the same thing with gymnastics. I would love to put her in something, but I dont know what. I am thinking dance she would be the same way for dance so I am hesitant to try that.
She may be just to immature at this point, but I feel so much pressure to have her do something. Self imposed pressure because everyone else I know has their kids doing things at this age. I feel like I doing her a disservice by not do things yet. So torn....
Help please

Swimming! My dd is in dance while sometimes she is good often times she is distracted off doing her own thing. It's the age because most of the class is like this at some time or another.
Swimming is awesome. There isn't much waiting around doing nothing like their is in other activities. My dd goes to the ymca the classes are small and they teach them a lot. It's also an individual activity not a group so really each child is succeeding at their own rate. There is always something for them to be proud of and they aren't being compared to the group! I find it's great for my dd self esteem.

I'd take a break and try again in 6 mo to a year. Why waste $$? Enjoy the nice weather & take her places as a family to build memories: she's got plenty of time to learn a sport.

Tball, basketball, karate, swim, piano or music lesson, track, tennis, acting or theater, ice skating.
When my son was 5 he was all over the place too. He liked all the sports clinic but didn't hold his focus for the entire hour. If she wants to do it, I would still put her in.
