? about RSofNY

So I took the advise of some wise ladies who said before I start taking the clomid I should see a RE.

I will be seeing Dr. San Roman after hearing a lot of great things about him.

Does anyone know what the office hours are for the Stonybrook location?

How long of a wait did you have when booking your appointment? I am going to call Monday because my gyn office faxed the referral over Friday afternoon. I want to be seen asap but I know I will have some sort of wait just wondering if its weeks or months.

Thanks.Chat Icon

Re: ? about RSofNY

When I went for a consult to RSNY (SanRoman), I had to wait two or three months for an initial appointment.

I got my initial appt. with him about a week and a half after I called. Once I started my treatment I had NO problems getting any appt. in the Stony Brook office. I think the earliest appt. was at 7am. I usually went early so I'm not sure when the last appt. was but I never had a problem getting the day and time I needed for my appointments. The office was really great and everyone was SO nice. Good luck!!! Chat Icon

Re: ? about RSofNY

I think I had to make an appointment about a week or two in advance for my initial consult. As for "every day" appointments, I can call the day before, or even the day of if I need to and they will fit me in.
They open at 7 (7 days a week), I am not sure when they close, I am always there early in the morning.

From what I remember my initial consult was in 2-3 weeks.....A majority of my appointments are made between 7am-10am because thats when you generally have blood drawn....For consults they have later afternoon appointments...Good Luck !

Re: ? about RSofNY

For my initial consult (OK I actually had to make it twice since I chickened out the first timeChat Icon ) I think it was maybe 1-2 weeks MAX. I was very suprised at how quickly they get you in for that consult.

As far as office hours, some days they open at 6:30 and others at 7 and I think they have appt's until 11 or 12 (they do everything in the morning and then make all the calls in the afternoon for med changes and test results). Oh and the consults were generally in the afternoon too I think (1-2pm).

I loved it there, the staff was so great and they got me pregnant on my first IVF cycle so I really have a lot of faith in them. Good luck to youChat Icon

Thanks for the info ladies. I'm so excited. I never thought I would be excited to see a dr.Chat Icon

One more question, do you think that they will they start me on the clomid monitoring right away? I already have the clomid from my gyn. I had it filled that day although I haven't taken them yet. I am dying to get started on this process and I'm worried I'll have to wait even longer to start on it. Chat Icon

Well, it will depend on where you are in the cycle. Typically they give clomid CD3-7. They will probably want to do some testing before giving you any kind of treatment protocol.

I had my first consult about 3-4 days before I was due to O. At the consult we decided we would go ahead with an unmedicated IUI and they said if I wanted to I could start that cycle. So I had my first IUI about 3 days after the consult! It will really depend on where you are in your cycle and what tests you have had done, but it's a possiblity!!
