Those of you who made your own food...especially veggies did you find that when you DC became toddlers they liked most veggies? I don't know if it makes sense but I figured since they've been eating a puree'd version all along they would be used to the taste.

Since DS is not yet a toddler I can't answer in whole but wanted to say...

I HOPE that he will transition to the vegetable in it's normal form (not pureed) easily since the taste should be familiar.

With that said...I expect that the veggies he hates now he will continue to hate...but we'll still try.

Thanks...I know so many little kids who won't eat vegtables so I thought this might possibly help.

I think another big thing is having the whole family eat veggies...kids really pick up on that.

I was eating artichoke when I was little more because it looked like fun when my mom ate it - eventually I came to love the taste. Chat Icon

OMG!! Me too! LOVED eating them as kids.

I make my own too and I can say that I'm not finding it detering DD's interest in non-pureed (sp?) food. She is LOVING putting food in her own mouth now and loving the little bits to chew/gum.

There is no guarantee that your child, who loved veggies as a baby will want to eat them at all as a toddler! Honestly, I made tons of veggies and great purees for my son when he was little, but I'll be darned if I can get him to eat any veggies now. He wants to eat pasta all the time. I do put veggies in his pasta as a secret though.
