Abdominal u/s
I was told to have a full bladder. How much water do I need to drink before I go? My appt is at 5:40 and if I don't go to the bathroom before I leave work at 4 I feel like I'll be doing the pee pee dance. Think I can go to the bathroom and then drink?

The only time I had to go in with a full bladder was for my 20 week appt. They had me drink 24oz. about an hour before and then no bathroom. She quickly got the pics she needed and let me use the bathroom. Then return and finish the sono.

hmmm.... i was never ever told to have a full bladder, and then at my growth sono last week i asked to pee and they're like "oh you need full bladder, so no"
i had just peed like a half hour before too... they didn't say there was a problem, so i woudn't worry too much. if you pee before you leave and then drink more, i'm sure you'll be fine. goodluck!

I had to drink a quart of water before my first sono at 6weeks and I was about to explode! I was sitting there for almost 1hr with a full bladder. I told the receptionist that I couldnt hold it anymore so they let me pee...they still saw the baby

Hmmm that's weird. Well the dr didn't tell me. The sono tech told me at my last appt that for my NT scam it wouldn't be internal and to have a full bladder. I guess I'll drink a bottle of water an hour or so before I go. That should be good I guess.

I think I was told not to pee for at least 2 hours. I drank a bottle of water. It was a LONG wait in the office... so I was told to "half" pee: fill up half a cup and then stop. Trust me: this was really not fun.
I'd not drink anything extra & just hold what you have.

i have one next week and they said to drink 16 oz of water 1 hour before my appointment (and obviously dont pee)
