I think what she wants to do is assign each guest a letter of the alphabet and that guest brings a wishing well gift that starts with that letter For example if I was assigned B I might bring a bib or brush

I think many guests think wishing wells are optional, and might be offended by being assigned a letter.
Some old schoolers are even offended by registries.
I thought an ABC wishing well meant things to teach the child ABCs or something with letters on it etc.
Often times the wishing well isnt even gone through at a shower, theres just not much time?

Here's a site with some ideas for an ABC/123 theme.

Idk about assigning everyone a specific letter though...I personally would buy something for whatever letter I was assigned, but I know others who wouldn't.

I went to a shower with an ABC WW and we were assigned a letter. Like with all WW, some people bring, some don't. But I don't recall anyone having an issue with being assigned a letter. In fact, I often find myself having trouble deciding what to get for a WW and welcomed that it was at least narrowed down by the letter!

I agree with fdnywife. I had some relatives fuming about bringing a book in lieu of a card, they'd flip about this!!!!!!
But I don't really get the point bc attempting to open things in order at a shower after opening 40 gifts will be impossible. And once you're home does it matter?? I'd just let ppl buy what they want.

Re: abc baby shower wishing well
Yea you guys are right. I just wanted to do something a little different and I know at bridal showers my mom got a hoilday wishing well and was assigned a holiday. Or things for the kitchen etc. MIL doesnt want the book wishing well and I dont want the diaper one so I thought this was cute and different. Do you think I shouldnt even bother? Here is the poem you tell me.....
's becoming a mom so it only seem fitting to have a "ABC wishing well" for her shower, we aren't kidding! A letter has been given so you can tell, how to fill the wishing well. Please buy a gift that starts with you letter. Something silly, something sweet or something much better. "B" could be bibs, booties or bottles "C" could be cream, chocolates or cars. You imagination is your only limit, be clever be crazy, just get into it. Then come to the shower, to join in the fun to honor our sweet mom to be. Cheers everyone!

Re: abc baby shower wishing well
I just had my shower and we did something similar with the first letter of the guests name. "A tisket a tasket something small for baby's basket. With the first letter of your name, bring something of the same. No need to mask it just place in the wishing well basket."
Ex. Susan= socks
Some guests chose to, some didn't. But either way it was different and it was fun trying to guess which gifts were from who. I had adorable night lights from Nicole and Nancy, a little lamb from Laura. It was different.
