A question for the computer nerds...

I just bought a new computer and the subscription is over soon for Norton Internet Security.

I can either upgrade this version (it's either 2007 or 2008) or get Norton 360. what do you think?

Thanks!

Neither! Instead get AVG at www.grisoft.com

This is a much better anti-virus that is on the cutting edge.

Cool! A computer tech service in Manhattan just installed AVG on my system...the free version of AVG Anti-Virus. I was wondering if I should now upgrade and subscribe to AVG's anti-spyware, firewall, and anti-spam.

I had the same question as OP about Norton. I was running Norton SystemWorks and Norton Internet Security before this. Norton's defrag program Speed Disk put my hard drive over the edge and the HD failed (not that I'm blaming Norton, the hard drive could've been on it's last legs.)

Another vote for AVG. All the computers in my network have the antispyware and antivirus installed.

I'm a big fan of theirs, so if they ever went completely paid, I'd gladly give them my money. I've been using them about three years now with no issues.

I've been using them paid and have my whole computer network on the paid versions as well.

We also run Spybot and update/run at least 2x/week.
