A mouse in the house!!!

Last night I was watching Tv with my 1 year old and out of the corner of my eye I saw a mouse go across the room. I almost died! I called my husband at work and made him come home. We set traps last night and called an exterminator who came this afternoon but nothing has been caught yet. I don't know where it went because it went behind my furniture and never came out and my husband looked everywhere for it. I hope it's only one but who knows. I am so sick over this. Has anyone else dealt with this?

An exterminator should be able to find the holes that they come in from if there are any. Also, if is very possible the this one just got in the house by accident. They can crawl though the tiniest of places. If I were you - I would borrow someones cat for a couple of days.

Re: A mouse in the house!!!

last summer i had construction on my townhouse (neighbor drove her car into the kitchen) and the entire front was open. Well, a field mouse ran in while the contractors were at home depot! When I saw it, it saw me and we both froze! then, i screamed and it ran under the door into the utility closet. well, i was on the phone with everyone in my family (unable to reach the contractors) and eventually my FIL came by. He found me standing near the front door, staring at the utility closet holding a broom and bucket! after he finished laughing he tried looking for the mouse but it was nowhere to be seen. I got no kill traps and one of those pest repellers that you plug in but nothing showed. the utility closet has all the ducts and stuff for the CAC and the hot water heater. I think the mouse got trapped in there b/c not long after the closet reeked for a week or two and then it went away. we never saw the mouse again!

I live in a co-op so it is a little different. I found a tiny little mouse in the bathroom of our place one day. I found a contanier and trapped him then walked him to the park and let him go!!!Chat Icon He was just so darn cute.

Yuck!! We hd one last year, we found it in the bathroom couner and trapped it and let it go in the front yard (we have a cat, we think she brought it in as a present for us!!)

p.s- I slept at my parent's house for 2 weeks until we were for sure that there was no more, I'm, such a wimp with rodents.

Re: A mouse in the house!!! *Update*

We caught it last night and I hope to God it was the only one. We are going to keep some more traps out just in case.

I was also tempted to go and stay at my parents but it's hard to drag the 3 kids and get them all packed up. Last night before we caught I saw it in my kitchen and when my husband came home from work there was my 4 year old daughter and me up on the kitchen chairs!Chat Icon
