A little update on us - UPDATED again
Update 9/4: We aren't getting Hunter.
Long story short, we drove to Philly to get him and got stood up. The Foster mom gave us some excuses and then didn't want to meet us after we had driven all that way.
We think she grew too attached and wanted to keep him.

WHAT? I can see if they changed their minds ahead of time, but to drive out there & get stood up??? I'd call the rescue org & let them know. Things like this can tarnish their image...

We called her from the meeting place and she told me she called me at home.
1. I had told her I'd be away all weekend and to call me via cell
2. She had my cellphone number - she swears I never gave it to her. Lies, because I gave it to her AND it was on my application.
Then she said, since she hadn't heard from me she (she called my house on Sunday and left 1 message) assumed I didn't want him.
It was totally ridiculous.

i'm so sorry... it's heartbreaking to have your heart set on an animal and then not be able to have him... plus, it sounds like this lady was a total beeotch about it - she could have been honest with you and saved you the trip to philly.

That's so terrible. Don't give up though. Keep looking - you will find the right new pup to bring into the family. I think little shelter has a cairn...not positive though but worth a look. Good luck. I really can't believe someone would be so awful about it. sorry that happened to you.

I know it is not going to get you Hunter, but I would still call the rescue org & let them know. Sorry she sucked A very similar thing happened to me when I was looking for a Chihuahua for Pyxie. We got approved and then once we were at the foster house they pretended they were not home  After I b!t@hed and complained to the org it came out that she was afraid of my tiny Shiba Inu and thought that he might not be good with the Chihuahua. Nice to tell me AFTER you approve me and set up a pickup....
