A GD question...
So I have been testing my blood 4x a day. So far the only number that has been over the limit is my fasting # in the morning. It's high whether or not I have a snack at night. Is it likely that I will have to go on medication or insulin just for this fasting #? If you had a similar issue, could you share your morning # and if you had to take something? Thanks ladies.

Re: A GD question...
I don't remember exactly my numbers but it was only slightly over (something like 5 or so over). I had to go on Glyburide at bedtime and my numbers were excellent after that. That was from the Perinatologist office. My obgyn when discussing it was not worried about the number at all since it was so close to being in the limit. He left the decision of the medication up to the perinatologist.

Re: A GD question...
I've been monitoring my blood sugar for almost 6 weeks now and I've only had 2 morning #'s that were higher than 90 (one was 99, the other 95). My OB wasn't concerned and when I spoke with the nutritionist, she said is was possible my evening snack before bed wasn't "enough". I NEVER eat after dinner, so having to snack is hard and sometimes I forget. I've been having peanut butter on a slice of wheat toast with some milk and my numbers in the morning are back down to the low 80's.
I've also noticed that during the week when I am up every day at 6:30 to get the kids out to school, my numbers are fine. It's the weekends where I can sleep in and get a few more hours of sleep that my numbers are higher in the morning.
