Anyone have a Cape and 2+ kids?
Ok not that I am preggo again yet but DH and I were talking about this.
If and when we do actually decide to try for #2 where would we put him/her?
We have a 4 bedroom cape...2 up 2 down. Our bedroom is downstairs and right now Jiavana has the other downstairs bedroom.
If we have another child within a year or two she will still be too young to be on a different floor than us and her bedroom wouldn't be big enough for 2 cribs!
Anyone have this situation? What do you do?

if you have a decent sized bedroom I would probably have my crib in there and keep the baby in the room with me as long as possible. Then probably move the older one upstairs
eta. if you wind up having another girl I think sharing a room for awhile would be a good possibility since they will be close in age.

We have, right now we are upstairs - we have one bedroom, she has the other. Her room is very big and when we have another one we will probably have them share for awhile.

ohhh.....see currently we are renting upstairs to my BIL so we don't have it to our disposal. Plus I wasn't sure if I wanted to lug DD up and down the stairs all the time.

That would definitely be a possibility. I guess the new baby could go into our room and hopefully by then DD would be almost in a toddler bed or something.
I know we have some time but it was worth discussing.

Re: Anyone have a Cape and 2+ kids?
We are currently in this situation. We have 2br upstairs and a 3rd on the first floor. Right now Nate is in our br bc of vent issues in his. It's fixed now, so we will move him back soon. We will probably keep baby #2 in our room for as long as we can. We could probably squeeze another crib in Nate's room, but it will be really tight. My mom suggested giving the baby's our bedroom since it's much bigger, but I'm not feeling that idea. We'll probably move in 2008 to a bigger place.

FH's sister has a one year old and is having twins in november.
I'll ask her what she is doing - right now she is upstairs with the baby - there is two beds upstairs and one downstairs. she will probably move the older baby downstairs, or move herself downstairs.

I don't have two kids yet but I have a cape with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 down.... right now masterbed and nursery are downstairs. once baby #2 comes along we are planing on putting baby #1 upstairs. I think he will be fine, I might get a video monitor for him. I'll keep his door closed and put up a gate at the top of the stairs.

This is what the previous owners of my house did. They gave the biggest room to the two kids to share, and moved into a smaller room. We would not like that idea either though.

Re: Anyone have a Cape and 2+ kids?
When my girlfriend had her second, she moved her son upstairs and had the baby up there too. The 2nd downstairs bedroom is a guest room.
