Re: 8 months Old

Hey, Probably not the best one to ask as I was late starting DD on solids and am still "scared" about what to give her.
So far she has only had rice, oatmeal and a selection of veg and fruits. I guess at her 9mth check up we will be told to break out some more food.
Hoping to get some ideas form this thread also so thanks for posting.Chat Icon

Re: 8 months Old

I had a similar post (last month when ds was 8 monthsChat Icon ) and Shana (btrflygrl) had some really great ideas. A lot depends on what your daughter can tolerate and if she is using her jaw to mash the food to chew.
Lately, I've added more of the food that we are eating in smaller pieces. My son loves anything carbs. I made pastina with a little bit of butter and a slice of american cheese for dinner (mac and cheese). Last night he had meatball, eggplant, and some pasta. He loves to snack on cheerios and most fruit (real pieces, not baby food jars). Lunch is where I struggle feeding him, my babysitter gave him grilled cheese the other day!!!

Re: 8 months Old

Actually, lunch is what I am having issues with because it is the baby sitter giving it to her. I was thinking of giving her a veggie and yogert for dessert.

Shana (btrflygrl) gave me some great suggestions. I tried the Gerber Graduate raviolis and Carlie seems to like them. She also loves elbows. I an still a little nervous to giver any "big" people, like chiken nuggets, food but think I am going to start trying this weekend since she is on a baby food strike. Carlie also LOVES eggs!

Re: 8 months Old

Sydney has only eaten a handful of things not jarred - she loves the yobaby yogurt and pancakes. We gave pastina, avocado, and egg yolk once and she hated it all, have to try again. Everyonce in a while she will eat a few tiny pieces of my grilled chicken from dinner. Daycare is going to start giving her mashed potatoes, rice, and peas and corn next week.
