8 month old EXTREMELY ATTACHED to me HELP!
my DD is a very happy baby. She does not cry when she goes to the babysitter's house will stay with DH when he picks her up after work but when I get home all hell breaks loose. She wails for me, will not let DH hold her or touch her even thought they spent 2 hours playing together. At night she only wants me. Oh and I cannot even leave the room without her crying
What can I do to help with separation anxiety? Please help!

I think it's very normal for them to have separation anxiety at that age and it's most likely just a phase. DS is 13 months and he's definitely better now but at the end of the day when he's tired, he still clings a little to me. He'll smile at DH but he still wants me to hold him. It's definitely much better than it was a few months ago, so hang in there! I would just give extra cuddles for now and hope it gets better with time.

8 month old EXTREMELY ATTACHED to me HELP!
DD has been the same way recently with me. She's a year old and I work days (DH takes care of her when I'm at work). When I get home at night, she wants nothing to do with anyone but me. She's the same way on the weekends with me. I think she's realizing that I'm not there all the time and wants to make up for lost time. I secretly love it.

My non-clingy twin just started this. Ive been setting her up in every room I'm in so she can see me. she is sick too so I'm sure thats part of it.

Re: 8 month old EXTREMELY ATTACHED to me HELP!
No real advice but I can totally relate. I thought my oldest dd had bad sepeartion anxiety turns out that was nothing my little one 11 month has the worst sepeartion anxiety I've ever seen. It's so hard because my little one runs after me and cries all day. I cant get anything done. She has to see me at all times and a lot of the time she wants me tohold her. As soon as I put her in the crib she is hysterical, throws herself all over the crib and tries to climb out. At night she is like having a newborn. She falls asleep and than wakes up screaming for mama. If dh goes in to get her she still screams for me. None of us are sleeping now. My pediatrician assures me she will outgrow this and I hope she is right.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one but sad that there isnt a real solution. I secretly love that she clings to me, and when we co sleep she will crawl over in the middle of the night and cuddle with me. Its adorable and I cannot get mad at her when she is extra needy but sometimes momma needs both her hands and has to pee. Ok i guess I will try to be as patient as possible and hopefully she will grow out of it soon and be clingy with Daddy.

My DS went through the same thing at that age. I couldn't even go to the bathroom without him screaming bloody murder. It was so hard but I had to pee lol so he learned I was coming right back. It took a long time, but it does ease up.
