Great Bridal Shower Gift Ideas?
My best friend is having her shower soon and I would love to get her an amazing gift. Some kind of basket with lots of great things in it, and something sentimental too.
Does anyone have any great shower gifts that they want to share?
Any great poems out there for bridal showers?
TIA!

Re: Great Bridal Shower Gift Ideas?
i love to give these as a little something at a shower...
hanger
some other unique gifts i received are: menu box and a friend made me a big basket with kitchen towels & pot holders for every holiday (from valentines day, st paddys day, july 4th, thanksgiving etc) and some other kithcen items
some sentimental gifts could be nice toasting flutes that they can also bring to the wedding or a cake cutting set engraved
I did not want the candle poem, so instead I did a wine poem (dh is a wine lover) so here are 2 options...
Wedding Night- (wrap in white tulle)--Champagne The night you have dreamed of is finally here. The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear. You’ve wanted so long to find your mate. Sip this wine and toast this date. The night is meant for you to share. Enjoy each other a perfect pair.
First Dinner party- (wrap in gold tulle) -white wine As you open your home to all of your friends to entertain and eat. It’s a place for old friends to catch up and new ones to meet. When the night is over two great hosts can share this bottle of wine But don’t sit down yet pull up your sleeves because now it’s clean up time.
First fight- (black tulle)-red wine When fights occur as they sometimes will and tempers are steaming hot. Pour a glass take a sip and be thankful for what you’ve got. For in a marriage if everyone agreed it would certainly be a bore. And by asking for my friends hand Jordan’s surely in for more!
Christmas Eve- (red and green tulle)-Beaujolais A wise man turned to a friend and said wine is better than beer. And now is the season for friends and fun and lots of holiday cheer. So pop the cork and relax a bit and when the night is through, kiss goodnight, close your eyes and Santa will be good to you.
First Anniversary- (cream tulle) -White wine Tonight you’ve been married a year one wonders where the time goes. No longer are you newlyweds, soon you’ll be pro’s. I hope the days have found you both in good health and spirit. Keep saying I love you one always needs to hear it. Now toast this date known as the first but certainly not the last. And as you build your future don’t ever forget the past.
1st Baby-(pink and blue tulle)-Champagne or cider The news that a baby will soon share your life will make you a mother not only a wife. You’ll see it through good times and sometimes bad. Leslie the loving mother, and Jordan the dearest dad. Now Jordan must drink this one alone, and Leslie with empty glass. Sit back and relax nine months they quickly pass!
A basket of wine for a special pair - wrapped in all different colors for you both to share. We hope that you are both always as happy as today. Please share this wine just the way that we say. First, drink the champagne - the bottle all wrapped in lace - on your first married night in your new chosen place. The silver one you must wait to unseal 'til you have your first guests over for a meal. Love as you might, you'll have your first fight... Drink the blue one while you make up all night. The gold bottle is for Thanksgiving; to toast to the love-filled life you are living. The winters in your hometown might get a bit cold, drink the white bottle during your first snowfall. The green bottle's for Christmas, so put up your tree, drape the ceilings in mistletoe and get tipsy On January 1st, while sharing some kisses, drink the purple bottle to toast the New Year as Mr.. and Mrs.. Drink the pink bottle, romantic and sweet, when it's time for your newlywed Valentine's treat. And when your first year of marriage is done, drink the red bottle in honor of anniversaries to come. Cheers to Bride and Groom on the start of their lives together - may this basket of wine symbolize the beginning of your forever.

Re: Great Bridal Shower Gift Ideas?
I did a candle basket for my cousin's bridal shower. I got them the big yankee candles, and included some picture frames as well.
Here's the poem that corresponds with the candles
A basket of candles that come in a pair in all different colors, for you two to share. The white ones burn first; they are wrapped in white lace to celebrate your first married night in your new chosen place. The green pair is taller, and also much thinner; burn with the first company you have over for dinner. The dark blue candles are for after your first fight; use them to burn while making up all night. Pink candles set the mood and pave the way for your first married Valentine’s Day. Now, when your first year of marriage is through, the cream anniversary pair, will light for you two. Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright; celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might. By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe you can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby. And just when you thought you’d put these away, take the light blue ones out for your fifth anniversary day. Now just one more pair left - for the big "two five" - the anniversary pair that will keep your love alive. Congratulations (Bride and Groom) on the start of your forever. May the two of you always be happy together. And burn these candles just the way we said, but please don’t forget: blow them out before bed!

you can do this with tapers and give them a nice candle holder set (tiffany's or something)

Re: Great Bridal Shower Gift Ideas?
I love the anniversary wine idea. I even saw a really nice keepsake box for all the different bottles on pinterest.

Link.
My aunt had given me a big metal tub filled with different glasswares (margarita, martini, shot, etc.) and different bottles of liquor. She also gave me my Margaritaville maker. But I'm sure all that was pricey. But it was a fantastic gift!
If you search on pinterest, you'll find tons of really creative ideas. IMO, it's all in the way you present it.

I just got my friend a "Mrs. Brigante" hanger and she flipped out! She absolutely loved it. The artistry is beautiful, I was blown away at how amazing it was. Here is who I used, she was so reasonably priced-like 20 bucks- and she turned it around super-quickly: http://www.etsy.com/shop/OriginalBridalHanger

I LOVE this! Will definitely be looking into it for my 1 year anniversary in October.
Last month, I did the wine poem for my best friend's bridal shower. It came out surprisingly well and I am no DIY-er. She was also happy with it. I found a printable template online, bought all the supplies and wine, and assembled it. I had a lot of fun with it.

Re: Great Bridal Shower Gift Ideas?
I always make the "Mrs" hangers myself. It always goes over REALLY big and the brides always say it was their favorite gift.
