If you are thinking about getting a pool dont go with Island Recreational
I called on wed to have my pool maintenanced for the summer was quoted a price go there today BEFORE the *sale* ends and they wont honor the price! New price starts May 1st - today is April 30th- I have never heard such a thing. I called corporate, spoke to the store manager and got 4 different stories and bottom line was they would rather lose a customer. Im sorry I purchased my pool from there!!! I dont want anyone else to get the run around either.
I am def calling BBB tomorrow too.

Really? It's funny you say that, DH & I were actually thinking of using them because my MIL raves about them all the time. They take care of her pool and she has nothing but positive things to say about them. Maybe you misunderstood them?

Nope I just wrote everything to the BBB, I was given 4 different stories regarding when I was suppose to purchase the maintenance package. DH was shocked too with them. Oh well glad you and Red had positive experiences with them but my DH just spoke to our neighbor he too has nothing but complaints about them and gave us the number of the guy he uses for his pool.

Weird for whom? I called on wed told to come into the store before may 1 that is when the price will change, I go in today April 30th told nope I have to pay the may 1st price (499.00 by May1st 649.00 starting may 1st)- cause the computer is allready that way and they cant override it- I call customer service they say they can in the store- store says they cant. I have never heard of ANY store doing this

nope no screaming, no name calling nothing of the kind. The manager just kept saying he cant override the computer, he couldnt do anything. I used to be in sales I know the game but this guy just wouldnt budge even DH spoke to him and was shocked he couldnt do anything. thats when I called customer service and she said they can and will put in a complaint to the store. the whole thing just sucked but thats ok we will go with someone else, this happened in the Massapequa store.

Hey Girl..
They do have crap C/S. When we purchased our pool last year, they delivered the wrong liner. It was back and forth for what seemed like weeks with the physical store we bought it from, the Warehouse, Corporate, etc. It was a nightmare. Meanwhile it was holding up the actual install. We finally got it settled but the liner we originally picked out was discontinued and they expected us to pay for the "upgraded" one they delivered (never mind it was the wrong freaking size More time spent on the phone!  We finally had to return to the warehouse the incorrect one and pick up the correct one.
And to think, we had to start it all over when we went to close the thing
They are cheaper than Harrows but then again, you get what you pay for
