What accessories to register for if renting a breastpump?
I was wondering what accessories I would need if I was going to rent a breastpump. I see things like breastshields, spare valves, steam sterilizing bags... what and how much of each do I need to get that doesn't come with the pump? Thanks!

Good question - I wonder the same thing. I am getting a pump from my aunt but need to buy my own "pieces" that hook into it. What might I need too??

You don't register for those. You get them when you rent your pump. You can't know which pump you will rent so I would not register for these items.

I don't have to get them on my own? Do they come with the pump or I have to buy everything seperately when I rent the pump? Thanks!

call the pharmacy you will be renting the pump from to find out what brand they carry and what you will be actually using. In most cases they have the accessory kits there at the pharmacy to purchase...they run about $25.00

Nursing pads! And cream for when the baby destroys your nipples the first few days!

You purchase the parts from the lactation consultant, pharmacy or medical supply store you rent the pump from. It's hard to know before hand what else you may need to purchase at the store (extra flappy valve things, bottles) so I wouldn't register for them. By the way, I rented the Medela Symphony and loved it. It's great for home use but not very portable. I rented mine by the day at first to see if I liked it.

Absolutely! The lanolin cream really helped me out those first few weeks.
