Anyone have a cyst on their ovaries during pregnancy?

and if so did it disappear once your pregnancy was over? I just went for my first scan and the relief over finding the heart beat turned into Chat Icon when he said I had a cyst on my right ovary.

It;s probably a corpus leuteum cyst, which is where the egg released from. It created progesterone to support the pregnancy until the placenta takes over.

Its totally normal and important to sustain the pregnancy.

so relax!

I had it and it was still there a year + later when I went for an IUD. My OB was NOT concerned at all.

Re: Anyone have a cyst on their ovaries during pregnancy?

yes, I have it now. I was having a lot of pain on the right side , still do, they did an ultrasound to rule out ectopic, they ruled it out but was told I have the cyst. They said it's very tiny and may not be what's hurting me, but everything else is fine, so it has to be the cause of my pain.
I was told it's nothing to be worried about and it will go away on it's own. But they will keep checking it.

I had cysts on my ovary for two of my pregnancies. They resolved themselves on their own with no problems. I was monitored a lot with my first pregnancy because it was a 10 cm cyst but they were just keeping an eye on it.

Try not to worry about it.Chat Icon

I had one. The pain was just awful. It was there until at least least my 4th month of pregnancy. Then it started to drain on its own and last time we looked it was totally gone. It was a corpus luteum cyst. My RE says they usually go away on their own by the 3rd month, but sometimes they do stick around throughout the entire pregnancy.
