For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
Do you have heartburn and if yes how bad?
I was just wondering if every pregnant woman gets this or is it only common in a percentage of woman.

I get it but mostly at night I'm 29 weeks. It gets worse when I lay down.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
I've had it from day 1 in both pregnancies.... Most of the time 2 TUMS will help, but the other night it was so bad, it felt like my throat was on fire.... For me, anything can trigger it, even a plain bagel with butter.

I had it in the first trimester and now that I am in my third, I have it again. I rarely had it in the second trimester. TUMS help a lot.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
I get it sometimes, depending on what I ate. I think what helps me is the fact that I drink a cup of milk before I go to bed.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
This is a BIG Y E S for me!!!! Especially the last couple of weeks. Maybe I'm going to have a baby with a lot of hair, like I had!
As for how bad it is, lets say this: I have a bottle of TUMS Ex in my bathroom here, one bottle in my desk at work and not one of my bags doesnt have a small roll of them. I dont leave home without them anymore.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
Yes, I'm in my 36th week. It comes and goes. A few weeks ago it was really bad. I've learned what not to eat/drink to avoid it though. Tums were my best friend!

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
OMG I have it so bad--it started around week 25 and now at 40 it still has not let up. I take two pepcidac and it helps just a little. Tums never worked for me. This is the worst part of being pregnant!!!

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
I get it all the time - with all 3 pregnancies. Really bad. Im only 27 weeks now, Im afraid of the coming weeks, its so dreadful. Even when I eat nothing for hours. I find I really have to eat less food to be comfortable. ETA: Pepcid is the only thing that helps me - instant relief. Tums and Maalox do nothing. I had concern over how many Pepcids I was having but my OB said they are fine.

I am 34 weeks. I get it, but a lot less than I did earlier. When I feel it coming on, I take Tums.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
I'm 27 weeks only get it when I eat certain foods which I now know to avoid. As soon as I feel a twinge of it coming on, I'll pop some Tums.

Re: For those ladies in the later stages of pregnancy
I have gotten it occasionally, during the whole PG (33 weeks now). Nothing I can pinpoint as a trigger. I just don't leave home without my bottle of Orange Creme Mylanta.
