MY JOB ( Katrina related)
Is asking for volunteers for 2 weeks to either go with the red cross down to LA, or to NYC to help the red cross sign in evacuees heading there for temp sheleter.
They will pay ( my job) all costs of travel and regualr salary for two weeks..
Pretty nice I must say...
BUT...Of course our dept. ( Customer service) is likly not to be eligable its reported because we are too " in demand" in our jobs..
Iwould have LOVED to have helped...

WOW that sounds like it would have been wonderful to help out so many people and help put a smile on their face just by being there and helping.
Yea being in customer service does become not eligable for things and it stinks because of being too "in demand". I have booking agents who would have no idea how to survive without our customer service department. It's great to be in demand in the company but when you want to help others outside the company it really bites.
