 | Nice/quiet beach in the area? MY whole life I've always gone to Rockaway, in the 120's, you can park on the street there on weekdays. It's not bad, but I was wondering if there are other area beaches that are nice, quiet, uncrowded and where there is parking, and what is the parking like.
Rockaway is annoying b ecause it can be crowded and you have to park blocks from the beach

Don't you need to be a resident for this?

I used to work in B111th...Go to the beach near St. Mary's ( I think that is the name of the school on B110Th). No one is there on the weekends because of the school and the boys home.

We are residents of nassau county and we pay $5 to get in. I think the fee for a non resident is $12 or $15.

 I don't think you need a permit.

If you willing to go to Nesconset, I know of plenty of beaches out here!

 | Re: Nice/quiet beach in the area? I went to Rice or Reese Park. I think it's in Queens maybe Brooklyn. I went on the weekend and it wasn't that crowded. Really big beach. Nicer than I thought it would being that I used to go to Fire Island all the time---making me very judgemental of beaches. |

 | Re: Nice/quiet beach in the area? I love going to Lido West....its hardly ever crowded and the parking is close to the beach. If you go to the far end of the parking lot there is a path to the "surf side" of the beach and its always less crowded.
