Special Education Teachers, I have an IEP question
What is the age limit for a student getting an IEP? We have someone over 18 who was just evaluated and we have been forced to give him the RCT exams for high school. Everyone at school is bewildered by this. What information do you have?

Re: Special Education Teachers, I have an IEP question
I thought it was to 16 or 18, with an IFSP being from 0-3 and an IEP being from 3-16, with transitional services coming into effect upon 18.

Re: Special Education Teachers, I have an IEP question
You can stay in HS believe it or no until your 21st B-Day. You can have an IEP till you turn 21. I'm a Speech Therapist in a HS and have alot of students with IEPS that are 18.

Re: Special Education Teachers, I have an IEP question
Special education students are allowed to have an IEP until 21-- which is their majority age and their goals prior to 21 (18+) must include transition activites and prospects for the future.

IEPs until they are 21 and then when they come to us at the community college we go over their IEPs and see what accommodations they are going to get here.
