I was in a very minor car accident on Friday. I'm not hurt at all but my poor Prius was

My insurance covers a rental through Enterprise so whenever I leave the car to be repaired, I'm going to call them to pick me up from the body shop to go to pick up the rental.

I've never done this before so I have a couple of probably stupid questions.

1. Where do I sit? Front seat or back seat? I'm going to feel very awkward either way lol.

2. Do I have to pay for this or is it part of their service? Do I give a tip?

Sorry to hear about your accident-so glad you're ok, so sad your car isn't
My DH used Enterprise for a similar reason and he sat in the front with the driver- he said it wasn't too awkward. He also said he did have to leave a deposit for the car, but they refund it when you bring the car back. And he didn't tip. HTH

Sit in the front and yes this is part of the service and no I would not tip. The person picking you up may be one of the sales people

I use them all of the time when I have to go on long drives out of town for work.

Usually they are young chatty guys fresh out of college in their first job, who pick you up. I always sit in the front and they tend to make conversation about where you are going, why you rented from them, etc.

You need a credit card for the deposit.

I usually go with the smallest vehicle on the lot and have not had any problems.

They open around 7:30AM and can come pick you up shortly after, take you to the place to do the paperwork and get your vehicle, and you can be on your way. They close at 6 each day but you can return the car by the next morning and not get charged. I think you have to have it back by around 8:30AM, with the same amount of gas you picked it up with (usually 1/2 or 1/4 of a tank).

P.S. No I do not tip. Oh, one more thing: Make sure you call the Enterprise closest to where you have to be picked up in the AM. I've dropped off in the past to the Lindenhurst location because it seems closest to me, but when I rent the car I have to book it through the Amityville location. If you call the wrong one they will just give you the number though of where to call. Good luck!

I used to work there.

Sit in the front. No tip. It will probably be a sales rep. They are very personable, so you will be fine. Just give them a call ahead of time to let them know when you will need the car. That always helps.

I work in an auto body shop for over 10 years now, we have used many rental cars for our customers but always went back to enterprise . They are a very good reliable company , i use them when we go onn vacation.
They offer pick up as a service no need to tip , sit in front, make surer you do a walk around and point out any dings and or scratches so they can make a note of it, also if you have your own ins you don't need to pay the extra ins cause you will be covered with your own ins...but if you want the extra coverage that is up to you just know that it is not mandatory

The rental was arranged by my insurance company. They told me which location to use (closest to my house) but it's actually not the closest to where I will need to be picked up (body shop).

omg-you just brought back a memory!!

I was rear ended on the LIE and had to drop of my car to the shop. Mind you, after the accident, I was still a little nervous to be on the road. I was constantly checking my rear view mirror whenever I slowed down, etc. Anyway, this guy picks me up at the shop and PEELS OUT of the parking lot. He then proceeds to speed up to red lights, tailgate other drivers, and swerve in and out of lanes! I wanted to kiss the ground when we finally arrived at Enterprise!

Whenever I see a commercial I turn to DH and say, "Enterpise: We'll take you drag racing!"
