7 Layer BLT Dip
I just made this for a luncheon at work and EVERYONE LOVED it. I thought I would share it- it is a real crowd pleaser.
BLT 7 Layer Dip
o (1)- 8 ounce package cream cheese softened (I used reduced fat or “Neufchatel”) o 3/4 cup mayonnaise o 3/4 cup sour cream (I used light) o 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder o 1/4 teaspoon onion powder o Salt, pepper and cayenne pepper, to taste. o 1 cup minced iceberg lettuce o 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese o 3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
(**** I used 1 ½ cups of reduced fat Mexican blend cheese instead of 3/4 cup of each of the above)
o 12 slices of bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled o 3 vine ripened tomatoes, seeded and chopped o 3 scallions, chopped
1. Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper salt and pepper to taste in a bowl. 2. Spread the mixture onto a serving plate. 3. Top the cream cheese mixture with remaining ingredients, in order: lettuce, the cheese(s), cooked and crumbled bacon, chopped tomatoes, and green onions. ** 4. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving. 5. Serve with desired choice of crackers, bread and/or veggies.
**You can also serve this dip all mixed together as opposed to layered, just prepare it layered and mix right before serving so the ingredients do not get soggy.
