pool company and insurance
my pool has been having a leak since we opened it. when i mean a leak i mean a big leak - anyway i called the company who closed the pool and they said it was from my heater - options were get a new heater or reroute the pipes so our heater is bypassed.
we had problems since - called them and they wanted to schedule a pressure test - for anyone whos had that u know that test alone is expensive.
anyway we called the people who installed the pool and after all the tests they isolated it to the spa returns (the pool has an attached spa)
turns out the cracks in the pipes were caused from improperly blowing out the lines
the company that coed the pool is licensed and insured.
now what???? this is going to cost a fortune. i cant even think . the guy from the pool closing gave the run around saying the pool is old etc. the original installers of the pool said this was caused by improper cosing.
do we contact the pool people again or go thr the insurance and if we go thru the insurance how do we find out who insures them?
eta: its an inground gunite pool if it makes any difference

Re: pool company and insurance
I hate to say this, but we bought our home and I love everything about it but our beautiful 20x40 IG pool is a NIGHTMARE!!
We have sunk SOOO much money into it. Just in the last couple months we have sprunk 3 leaks, and even had a partial wall collapse!! Our brick patio now around the pool is all messed up. Our pool stays cleaner if we dont use the pump, which tells us theres a problem with the pump or with the pipes under my brick patio.
When I called State Farm about insurance for the wall collapse they said if it was due to water or ice its not covered. I fought tooth and nail that it was due to snow (Dec 26th) and they covered it. Thank goodness. We got an estimate for over $8,000 to fix that.
So again, and good luck!

Re: pool company and insurance
I don't know anything about pools, but I would start by sending a certified letter to the company who closed the pool, including a copy of the report by the installation company. I don't know if there is a way for you to find out who insures them without them telling you.
