July GTG!
Hi Ladies! I've decided that I'd like to host the July GTG, if it's okay with everyone else. I'd like to make it on Friday, July 22nd, at 7:30 pm. It will be potluck, as usual, so please let me know what you're bringing.
There is only one issue with me hosting. My home is semi-kosher. Since all the rules that DH and I follow and don't follow are confusing to explain (since we kind of pick and choose what we're comfortable with), I'm just going to ask that you don't bring anything with any meat or shellfish in it. I'm going to get disposable serving pieces for everything. I can't wash anyone's dishes or utensils in my kitchen sink, so if it's easier, you might want to bring whatever you make in aluminum pans. Sorry to make things more complicated, but I am really looking forward to hosting, and hope that this date works for many of you.

We have a kosher home too. It is difficult to explain the rules sometimes! I'm not sure if we can make this one I believe we have out of town guests staying with us for the weekend. I *may* be able to escape for a little while though....

I felt the same way the first time I went but it was totally worth it.

Of course you're welcome!  I am fairly shy myself, but everyone is so friendly at these GTGs, it's easy to talk to everyone since unfortunately, we all have a common bond.

Feeling sorta bummed. I am new to this chat and was looking forward to the next GTG but it is the night before my DH leaves on a 9 day mission trip to Hati. O POO lol I guess I'll try for the next one.

Oh bummer!!! DH and I had been thinking of going, but I forgot the date. It's the only Friday I can host though. That also takes care of my idea that my DH should make plans with yours for the night. Oh well.

I felt the exact same way. I was so nervous about going but Im so glad I did. These GTG's are so much fun! You will have a great time.

Anything you want. Some people make things, some people buy things. If you want to get some ideas of what's been brought in the past, look at some of the old GTG threads. There's usually a wide variety of stuff!

We have very similar rules! I will let my friends bring in non kosher chicken or beef for themselves, but they eat it on paper plates.
