Adoption...
So we have decided to go ahead and go through with the adoption process this summer with my son...
(my son has my maiden name... my DH wants to legally adopt him)
I know I have inquired about this before but I cannot seem to find the information people gave me.
Has anyone gone through an adoption with their child and spouse?
Where do I begin? Do I call a lawyer or family court?
I will be googling, but thought I'd ask here b/c it's easier to be spoon fed (if you know what I mean..)
i.e: I'm a little lazy

I live in WI but it's probably a similar process...
- contact lawyer
- contact adoption agency for step-parent adoption
- you or DH will fill out paperwork for adoption agency who will then run background check and references once they receive paperwork
- once that's done, a home study will be set up
- once that's done, lawyer will draw up papers for the termination of parental rights of the bio-father and submit papers to the court
- once all that is complete they set up the court date where termination and adoption will happen
