Bad Results on 1st Tri Screening
This is happening to me again - which totally sucks. NT baby's neck fold came back great (as it did with DD), but the baby came back as 1 in 108 for Downs. DD came back as 1 in 33, so I guess this is better. The counselor told me that the chances are that this is just how I carry my pregnancy and that I would be a "chronic abnormal screener". We are scheduled to do a CVS on Thursday and will know early next week. I have to do the follow-up testing because I need to know.
Anyway, I could use some hugs and prayers for my little muchkin!

 This was me too--with both my boys I had a low PAPP-A leading to a higher risk for downs on the 1st trimester screen, I was told the same thing. They are both totally fine, sending you some hugs though, I know how stressful it can be

yup, it was low PAPP-A and high HCG, she said the blood work was the same both times. I feel like everything is going to be ok, but still crazy scared!

When can you have the CVS up until? I read 10-12 wks. I would like this if given the option but I'm over 13 wks now.

Honestly, I've heard of a few people that have gotten the CVS and then had an amnio anyway since there were still some questions. I wouldn't worry about being past the time frame, I would skip right to the amnio anyway (I thought a lot about this for myself).

My friend had the results come back 1-100 and then was told the baby's legs were not growing appropriately. The whole pregnancy she was told she was having a baby with Downs or dwarfism. She delivered 10 weeks early due to an emergency C-Section. Baby is perfect!

I hear so many stories of these tests coming back bad, and the baby being perfect in every way ! It must be so horribly stressful for you, I am so sorry you are going thru this. Sending you many many hugs and prayers
