Need Quick Advice. On a situation with a dr. Thank you!
I take DD to a family dr. Just never was able to find the right peds. for her. She has been seeing a family dr. since she was 7 .
After I moved in with Keith I found this great office. Till this ONE Dr. who had NO patience. DD attentions span at that time was bad. The dr. instead of talk to me was trying to tell dd she has to do this or that. DD was more into reading her book at the time. The dr. then got up and said I dont have time for this and got up and walked out of the exam. I waited thinking she was going to come back with the rxs. Nope she went to the next pt.  Thankfully she is not the only one in this office.. Since then it was written on her chart not to be seen by this dr.
Well I knew this day would come. DD is sick and the only dr. in the office today or tomorrow morning is her. Now DD is NOT terrible, but I would like to stop it before it gets worse. I have tried calling around to see if there is another dr. office I can go to, but no one has appointments.
SO do I go to this dr. and look like a fool or being DD is not all that bad try to get otc stuff to manage it and see what happens?????

Not sure where you live, but in Syosset there's a after hours urgent care...PM Pediatrics, I believe they also have an office in Selden.

I have used them and have nothing bad to say about them.

If the doctor has a horrible bedside manner & was disrespectful, I wouldn't go to them.
What are her symptoms? If you're comfortable with treating with OTC, I'm sure someone new will be on tomorrow - or opt for PM Pediatrics. I loved them when we used them in a pinch.

Throat and sinus. No fever, If I take otc to treat , and she gets worse , I will have to take another day off and her another day she misses from school. I am off today.

Janet there's a PM Pediatrics in Selden in the TJ Maxx shopping center on Middle Country Road. They are wonderful there!!!

Thanks Sweetie! I just called them. DD just took a shower, LONG shower so I just have to wait for hot water to come back up and take one myself. Then off we go! Thanks Guys

i understand she is a dr. but she has some nerve treating her patients like that. get snippy with her and put her in her place.
idk if i would go tho. hmm
also let your insurance company know the treatment from her and I would def go online and write reviews about her.
eta i hope she feels better soon and glad you found somewhere else.
