6 month old and solids
How much (in terms of solids) do you feed your 6 month old? DS started solids 2 weeks ago and I'm not sure if I am over or under feeding him or feeding him just right. He LOVES solids. He literally gets giddy in his high chair and goes mmm the whole time.

We do not feed DD. She "feeds" herself since we are doing BLW (baby led weaning). She doesn't eat much but we believe in "food before 1, just for fun"
She only gets solids once a day, while we eat dinner.

I'd offer it till he is no longer interested or full. Seems like you got a good eater.

we started with one puree a day and then increased to two pretty quickly ...my son LOVES food and it sounds like yours does too! our ped always told us that if he was full or didn't want to eat he would turn his head away or give a sign that he's not interested so as long as he's happy and wanting it, i'd offer it.

Re: 6 month old and solids
aww my ds is like that too, loves to eat. I think at 6 months he was having a little fruit puree & baby oatmeal in the morning (small amount of each) and then a small bowl of puree vegetables in the afternoon. He was drinking a lot of bm at that point, I think 5 large bottles a day, so he was pretty full from that. The food was just to get him used to it.

DS was the same way. I couldn't spoon it in fast enough - he would cry in between bites if I didn't move quickly haha!!

This is my DS - although he is getting better.
Right now he's eating a little oatmeal and a veggie twice a day. He probably could eat more, but seems satisfied. I usually top him off with BM.

I would offer as long as she kept eating. When she was done, she was done. Sometimes it would be half a jar, some a full jar. They will let you know. Dont worry about over feeding or under feeding.

I never worried about amounts. Just gave time they were done.

You can't overfeed a baby. They will stop eating when they are full.
