5th and final IUI

Didn't work Back on BCPs I go...

This was a harder to deal with than prior months since we knew this would be our last IUI before moving to IVF. I was more hopeful than usual this month..I dropped 3 eggs this month instead of the 1 I usually have, my progesterone #'s were really good. I was supposed to go in today for my beta if AF hadn't shown up, and I was so hopeful yesterday because I had no signs of TB showing until almost the evening when I started to spot. I was a sloppy mess yesterday, and not doing that much better today.

I am beyond scared of the IVF process, and I question my emotional stability at this point. I know I'll do it, and it won't be as bad as I'm imagining...my logical self is trying to keep my emotional self in check. We have our injection class on 1/21. IF we decide to start this cycle, I'll start my Lupron injections on 1/22. We are toying with the idea of taking a mini break and going on vacation in February, but I'm also torn about that.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Please stay positive as hard as it is. A vacation might actually do you good so you can relax and clear your mind a bit.

I think a mini-break is a great idea - use it to ground yourself and regain your strength to head into IVF. Keep your head up - 2008 is a new year full of hope and possibility

You can do it! The injection class might seem overwhelming with all the info...but once you get through the first injection, you will realize that it's not so bad. Keep your eye on the prize as they say, and take 1 day at a time.

You can do it.. I am scared too.. but you know what we will be fine.. I read all the other girls on here telling me it will be fine and you know what I am starting to believe it! I am sorry you have to go through this, but maybe IVF will be the answer to your prayers.

I have to say that I am on a break right now and I feel great. No meds, no doctor appointments, no stress, no hormones - I feel fantastic and I know when we start up again at the end of the month I'll be emotionally and physically ready to get going again.

I'm sorry that you have to go through this. Honestly IVF was not that bad for me. The anticipation was the worst part. I would do it all over again if I have to no problem and I'm a big chicken. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! It's hard to stay positive all the time. I do this to myself every month when AF shows, this month just hit a little harder. My wonderful DH said to me last night..."just post on your LIFamilies, I'm sure the girls there will be supportive in a way that I can't" He cried along with me yesterday, but he does understand (finally), that it hurts me differently than it hurts him.

I'm in the middle of IVF right now and although it is time consuming, it actually isn't too bad and I know my chances this cycle are SO much higher then they have been. I always get so down when AF shows up- I hope you are feeling better soon. Keep your chin up, we're here for you

I'm so sorry !....I could have written this post myself- we too are on our 5th and final IUI (which doesnt even look like I'll be having one as they dont think I responded to the Clomid this month )....We have our injection class this coming Saturday and were also considering sneaking in a vacation but my irrational self tells me "yeah but what if its menat to happen that month and you skipped it ???!!!....Lets hope 2008 brings everyone here lots of !

I can totally related to how you are feeling. I just finished my last iui cycle which ended in a BFN. I had 4-6 good follies and was extremely hopeful. I just started our IVF cycle. I am on BCP for 21 days so to me that is a mini break. you might want to see what you protocol is before you decide to do anything. you might not have to go in for bw or start injectibles right away and that might be a good enough break for you. good luck!

I'm sorry Michelle! That really stinks.

I'm on my final round of clomid and will be moving to IVF at the end of the month if God forbid this doesn't work. I thought about taking a break until I found out how long the whole IVF cycle will take - just shy of 8 weeks. Which means I wouldn't possibly be pg until at least the end of March - which seems so very far away at this point.

This is such an incredibly frustrating and upsetting thing to go through...

I'm sorry about this cycle Michelle. I wish you all the strength and baby dust out there for your IVF cycle, when you decide to start it. Try not to let yourself get too overwhelmed with it, You Can Do It!

Your story has been so similar to what I went through.

I hope you have the same success I did and one IVF is enough for you to get what you've been waiting for.

Sorry to hear that but in the end IVF is really not so bad, you will see......


Taking a vacation is a great idea, it will clear your mind and physically relax you!!!
