changing table ?
we will be using my childhood furniture for the baby (it's in excellent condition). there is a desk that *could* be used as a changing table. my only concern is that it's just a plain flat surface. would that work and be safe as a changing table?
if you bought a piece of furniture to double as a dresser/changing table, did it have anything extra on top of it to support/protect the pad? or was it just a flat surface?
or should i get a traditional changing table?
TIA!

Re: changing table ?
that's fine! we are putting (i don't remember the correct term) the padding that you put underneath a rug to that it grips onto the changing pad...just to make it a little more stable!

Re: changing table ?
Yup.. you can.. they sell a kit that will allow you to put a changing table on it.
but it's NOT necessary to use that. you can get the changing table and adhere velco on the bottom of it and onto the table and/or use a piece of the area rug non slip under it and it'll keep it in place..
HTH!

Re: changing table ?
That's what we have so when DS is older he will use it as a regular dresser. The changing pad we have for him has two pieces of ropey fabric that gets screwed into the back of the dresser so the pad doesn't slide off.

Re: changing table ?
We just got a regular dresser that's at a good height for us. We plan to put a changing pad (one of the contoured ones) on top of it.
I was at my friend's house the other day and they had an old dresser with a towel on it that they use as a changing table and it was perfect. My SIL just changed her kids on a changing pad on the floor or on the bed the majority of the time.
Sounds like you're in good shape!

Re: changing table ?
you can use anything as a changing table...lol I think this time around we're just going to get a contoured changing pad and put that where we need it.
