Those who had IVF -Cycle ?
Do you remember when in the cycle you had your Hyster(water) sono and trial transfer?
Also...how long where you on BCP's for?
  THANKS!

Maybe I should say. Im thinking that the entire things is two periods.
Our clinic tells us 7 weeks and I just got my period , so I should be starting on the BCP's in the next few days.
Now the paperwork says during the next 3 weeks, we can do the two tests, but I would like to try to do them EARLY if possible due to scheduling issues, was wondering if that would be a problem.
Im thinking not based on what you said.
I know, Im making no sense...lol..Im sorry

Re: Those who had IVF -Cycle ?
dm24angel: you have FM.
The water sono and mock transfer is done prior to stims. Also, the length of BCP usage depends on the protocol the RE wants to use.

thanks! I wanted to see if we could do the testing as early as possibel into the first cycle.
And I know that the BCPS will be different times, I wanted an idea.

This is the way it works.
  1. AF just came, they will have you start BCP on the third day.
  2. After the last BCP, you will have withdrawal bleed (another AF)
  3. Then they start the stims, again depending on the protocol you will be using.

Re: Those who had IVF -Cycle ?
Okay, I'm about to start my IVF cycle tomorrow and I've never heard of a water sono and mock transfer.
It's not mentioned anywhere in my paperwork. Is this something that is done everywhere???

it could be based on clinic.
I was told they are both to prepare the drs more or less for the transfer.
Since its the dr on call who does it. The water sono and mock transfer are in yoru file to address any special situations ahead of time ( tilted uterus, fibroids, cervical stenosis etc) I dont think its 100% neccesary if that helps??

Re: Those who had IVF -Cycle ?
I believe that Cornell does their mock tx during retrieval...it just checking to see what catheter (straght, curved) you need for transfer.

Re: Those who had IVF -Cycle ?
i had the watersono six days after starting bcp. blood test two days before that to make sure you're not pregnant.
  i don't remember having a mock transfer-maybe it was done during e/r or e/t.
you will probably have to have an endometrial biopsy too, while on bcp.
i was on bcp for 28 days. had to skip placebo pills and get a new pack for that extra week of needed pills. i also was doing bcp and lupron simutaneously for the last 8 days of bcp.
i think everyone's protocol can be slightly different.
  good luck!!!!
