Help! If you switched baby's formula?
Gia has been crying a lot lately at night and I think it is gas pains but I am not sure if it is just her being fussy, exhaustion, mild reflux, colic, etc.. she is on Enfamil with iron, and I read a few posts of mommies who have switched.. It has just started since she turned one month, I am going to call the dr 2morrow her next appt is not until april and I don't want to wait any longer..thanks

Re: Help! If you switched baby's formula?
Is she spitting up? If not I would think that she doesnt have reflux or a milk allergy. I went through 5 formulas. Similac Soy worked wonders for us. I would try that one next, try it for 3 days and see what happens.
Jack was colicy, constipated and gassy. Soy really helped with everything except the constipation. Honestly within 1 day he was like a new baby.
I would call the doc and see what he says. Good luck

Steven cried incessantly from about 2 weeks until 3 months. We went through every formula: simliac w/ iron, soy, lactose free, alimentum, nutramigenbut none worked for him. We ended up on a prescription only formula that the insurance co pays for AND delivers to my house

jacob is on nutramigen since he has a milk protein allergy and soy allergy. He still has gas though and it;s totally maddening..
He's better on nutramigen than he was on similar advance and prosobee but not 100%...

Norenn you should talk to your dr about trying Neocate- Jacob sounds just like Steven was and now Steve is doing fabulous- except he still but dr says he'll outgrow that!

Re: Help! If you switched baby's formula?
Alyson was VERY gassy and was having a hard time passing the gas on Enfamil with Iron so we switched to soy before we even saw the Dr.
It can take 3 days or as much as 2 weeks to see a difference. I noticed within those 3 days how much less her gas was.
You can try Dr Brown's bottles also if it's just gas...maybe she's just getting too much air.

Try Enfamil Gentlease. It is for fussy gassy babies. Our ped switched Hayley to this and also switched to Dr Browns bottles.
