 | Closing Question How long before your actual closing did you finalize the date/time? We are scheduled to close on Monday, December 12 and we haven't gotten the date yet! When should I start to get anxious aboutt his (I mean even more anxious than I am already about buying a house ) Not sure if it makes a difference, but we are moving to New Jersey....

 | Re: Closing Question I think that we only found out a few days before. Maybe like 4 or 5 days at the most. |

 | Re: Closing Question We just closed on our home in NJ and we had our attorney put a time of the escence clause into the contract so we knew we would close on 10/28. (we had the clause put in because we had already extended our mortgage rate lock we needed to close by 11/1, otherwise we would have lost our 5.125% mortgage). We had called our attorney about a week and a half before we closed (I think that wednesday) and confirmed our final walk through time, closing time, and the estimated amount we needed for the closing. I think the closing took a little over an hour, perhaps an hour and a half. The final number needed to close was the same amount and we were able to get that 2 days before we closed because we wired our attorney the money.

 | Re: Closing Question They really only need to give you a few days notice on a closing date. They can call you on a Monday to inform you of say a Thursday closing. |
